The University of Western Australia (UWA) is the oldest university in Perth, having been established more than a century ago and presently ranked at 90th place globally (QS 2023). We offer several subjects within the Top 50 globally, including Marine Sciences, Oceanography, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Environmental and Mining Engineering, Agriculture, Psychology, and more (QS 2023/ARWU 2022).

UWA is located alongside the Swan River, with our Perth campus often being voted as one of the most scenic in Australia where iconic sandstone buildings are surrounded by historically listed gardens. We are merely a 10-minute drive away from Perth’s primary shopping and business district and in close proximity to numerous stunning beaches within the city.

On campus, you will find a vast array of essential facilities to enjoy, such as cafeterias, libraries, bookstores, a lively cultural district, and numerous clubs and societies to join in order to truly experience the student life to its fullest. Our supportive Student Guild ensures that you get the chance to volunteer, receive independent advice on various matters, or attend the wide range of diverse events both on and off-campus.

You’ll receive a visa for post-study employment

Studying in Perth opens up the opportunity for an extra year of post-study employment visa after your graduation. This means that bachelor’s degree students can stay and work for up to 5 years after completing their degree, while Master’s students (with a minimum study duration of 2 years) can stay and work for up to 6 years after graduating. This presents an incredible chance to combine your studies with real-life work experience!
